AM Your Mom

I’m your mom, would you not

hear me beat,

Are you able to not have the love I send

Wasn’t the environment you breathed, my scent so sweet,

Is my discomfort hard that you should comprehend.

Upon my body system snow lays soft

and white-colored,

Beneath my skin the long run sleeps

My bloodstream flows to nurture and delight,

In to the ground it deeply seeps.

Mountain tops tall, clouds

wreath my crests,

Moving hillsides once wooded thick

Gentle prairies too were once lush with grass,

Where did my bounty go so quickly.

Sandy beaches and rock

girded shore,

Where sea waters sweep and crash

A land of beauty, once so pure,

Damaged by man’s actions heedless and rash.

All of this beauty was yours to

behold,

Your duty ended up being to love, cherish and safeguard

Feel my anguish, the discomfort within my soul,

All I requested was your respect.

I’m your mom.
